LATEST LOCAL CFS/ME NEWS !

CFS/ME SERVICE UPDATE:

Thank you to everyone who took the time to write to the RCHT via MESH asking for an increase in the CFS/ME Service medical workforce.
Your many letters and valuable comments were forwarded to the CEO Lezli Boswell.

Unfortunately, " the impact of a reduced workforce in the CFS/ME Service"
although it was meant "to be a temporary situation" has not yet been resolved !
Therefore, the service is still NOT in a position to FULLY reopen until the end of May (?)

HOWEVER,THE CFS/ME SERVICE WILL AT PRESENT:

1. see urgent new cases

2. do follow-up medical, OT and Psychology appointments

3. accept NEW patients for Occupational Therapy and Psychological therapy BUT ONLY IF you have a previous diagnosis OR
your GP has ALREADY DIAGNOSED you (via direct referral from your GP to the Service Specialty Lead Carol Wilson)

THE CFS/ME SERVICE HAS BEEN REVIEWED and WILL BE REMODELLED with full details available in mid-April !
We will keep you informed of any progress through this website !

TO DATE, THE CFS/ME SERVICE TEAM comprises:
Dr Robert Gardner

Carol wilson as Speciality lead and Consultant Grade occupational Therapist
Dr Cristina lopez-Chertudi, Consultant Clinical Psychologist
and three local occupational therapists
